The Space:

The Salty Duck is the kind of home that makes people want to come back. It's been thoughtfully modernized — clean lines, modern updates, and a layout that gives a family of 8 room to spread out without losing each other. Three king bedrooms, a bunk room for the kids, three full bathrooms, and two separate levels of entertaining space inside and out.



The backyard is where most of the magic happens. The private saltwater pool and hot tub are set alongside a bar area with lighting, outdoor games, and deck seating. When you're ready for sunsets, the sound is a 5-min. walk. When you're ready for the beach, access is 8 mins. on foot — you'll cross Rt. 12, but it's a fast, painless crossing that guests do daily without a second thought.



Duck village is about a mile away — walkable or a short drive — with eateries, coffee stores, yoga, boutique shopping, and the Duck boardwalk right on the sound. It's one of the most gorgeous towns on the OBX, and it's essentially at your doorstep. Shore Roasters coffee shop, Southern Shores Pizza, Steamers, and much more are just a short drive!

The Neighborhood:

The Salty Duck is on the soundside of Duck, NC — one of the most sought-after towns on the Outer Banks. Walk left out of the driveway, and you're 5 mins. to the sound, where the sunsets are genuinely enchanting, especially in September and October.



For the beach, Salty Duck deeded access is an 8-min. walk away. You'll cross Rt. 12, which is a quick, easy crossing — guests do it daily and appreciate the walk. There's no public parking at the deeded access, but numerous complimentary public beach parking areas are just a short drive away in Kitty Hawk or Kill Devil Hills.



Duck Village is about a mile away — walk it, bicycle it, or drive it. It's loaded with great eateries, coffee stores, stores, yoga studios, and a handsome boardwalk right on the sound.

Trust & Safety Fee

Our company applies a single, nonrefundable fee for a Safely Protection Policy. We do not collect a security deposit. A Safely Protection Policy (short-term rental insurance) ensures that the guest, the home, and its contents are protected during the stay.



Property Access & Maintenance

From time to time, our homes may require preventative or emergency maintenance. While we make every effort to avoid any interruptions to your stay, Sojourn reserves the right to access the property after providing 24 hours’ written notice. Your comfort is our priority, and we savor your understanding.



Security Cameras

All of our homes have exterior security cameras for the safety and security of our guests. Exterior cameras are pointed at areas of ingress and egress from the home. This home has one camera overlooking the front door.



No Parties/Events

We kindly ask you to treat our home as your own to preserve its condition for future guests and your return visits. We do not accept reservations from individuals under the age of 25, especially for high school or college events.



Not a Pet-Friendly Home

We appreciate those little (and not-so-little) furry bundles of joy. Sadly, our home is not suitable to accommodate them. Should you bring family pets without obtaining prior permission from the host, there will be a $400 infraction fee, and your stay will be subject to cancellation with no refund and an expedited eviction.
