We just got back from our stay at Nomad Dunes & wow—we’re still talking about it. The home is pretty, super clean, & had literally everything we could need (& then some). From the comfortable beds & outfitted kitchen to the heated pool, hot tub, & arcade room—it was the ideal mix of relaxation & fun.
The location is something out of a movie. Waking up to the sound of the ocean, drinking coffee while watching wild horses wander through the yard, & ending the nighttime stargazing from the hot tub... unreal. You do need a 4x4 to get there, but it’s completely worth the adventure.
Mike & Chelsea were outstanding hosts—great communication, super helpful, & clearly care about making your stay striking. If you’re even thinking about booking this place—just do it. You won’t regret it.

Mike & Chelsea’s home was impressive! We had a great stay at Nomad Dunes. There was plenty of things in the home to keep everybody entertained- even for our cold winter stay! The vistas were elegant & the rooms were comfortable. Mike & Chelsea were great hosts that answered questions quickly & included more things for guests in an AirBNB than I’ve ever seen- if you’re familiar with the 4X4 area- that was so very important & convenient to not have to worry about bringing a million things with us to the area. The horses came right up to the home every morning while we had our coffee, the location was great! Ideal stay if you are looking for a excellent home in Carova Beach!

✓ Trash must be put inside the outdoor trash cans, lids on cans, lid bungee lock closed, & wooden arm bar bungeed down. Horses will go through the trash cans.

*The pool is equipped with an electric heat pump to warm the pool water. Natural gas is unavailable in OBX. Heat pumps are limited to increasing the pool water temperature roughly 10-20 degrees above the ambient air temperature. A heat pumps performance is tied to the outside temps, the colder it is outside the less effective the heater will be. It may take 24-48 hours to warm up the water. No guarantees on the water temperature. Pool heat is an additional optional cost of $85/day, must pay for all booked nights of your stay. No refunds for any reason, including weather.
