THE SPACE
At this property guests have access to a range of resort amenities, including an indoor swimming Pool, Exercise area, Tennis courts, and Playground area for kids. There are also huge open areas for walking or for the kids to play in.
All the 2BR/2BA units at Ocean Pines are 2 level townhouse style condos, with an attached Carport / Garage.
The first (1st) level is where both Bedrooms and both Bathrooms are located, with the Master bedroom having a private bathroom and private deck. King bed in the Master bedroom, two Twin beds in the second bedroom, and a Queen Sleeper Couch in the living room. Private deck off the Master bedroom.
The second (2nd) level is the main living space, with a full Kitchen, Dining Room, Living room with Fireplace, and private outdoor deck off the Living Room area.
You will also have access to your own Washer / Dryer unit in the utility room in the Carport / Garage.
This unit is rated to sleep 6 comfortably, but if you have additional kids, or members in your group, you can bring an air bed for additional linens, and turn this unit into a sleeps 8.
GARDEN VIEW / RESORT VIEW CATEGORY:
The Ocean Pines resort provides direct Beachfront access, and this property stretches from Ocean to Sound, providing access to both. However this specific unit is not Oceanfront or Ocean View, and there is no view of the Ocean from the windows or outdoor decks in this unit. This unit is located in the D Building (see property map in the photos section), and is very close to the Beach access stairway and ramp down to the Beach, it's nearly outside your Front door. So you won't see the Ocean from your unit, but you will have painless and convenient access to the Beach.
UNIT INTERIORS
Since this property was originally constructed in the 1980's, you will find most unit interiors are clean and comfortable but a little dated. Hopefully the photos included give you a general understanding for what I am describing.
The benefits offered by staying at this resort includes being in a great location inside the city limits of the Town of Duck, and all the dining and shopping options only mins. away, having simple and convenient beach access, having access to a nice indoor pool / recreation area, and being able to book this at a price point that offers good value for a family friendly budget. This unit also provides a Full Kitchen and Washer / Dryer inside your unit.
Many families appreciate their annual vacations at this property, however if you are a traveler that requires luxury accommodations, this may not be the right choice for you. If you have any specific questions on this please don't hesitate to ask.
UNITS / PHOTOS
Please note that this listing includes multiple weeks available. The photos reflect the interiors of numerous different units you might be assigned, depending on which specific week you book. However, these units all have the same basic floorplan, with the general decor and layout reflected in the photos. If you have any questions, please feel complimentary to ask.
STAIRS / ACCESSIBILITY:
Most properties in OBX have a certain number of stairs, so that buildings are elevated and protected in case of potential flooding that could be caused by hurricanes or major storms.
So nearly all the units at this resort have a certain number of stairs leading to the Front Door of the unit and interior stairs between the 1st and 2nd level.
Exterior Stairs to Front Door – 7 steps
Interior Stairs to 2nd level – 16 steps
GUEST ACCESS
This is a Resort Condominium property. Guests will have their own private unit, but Pool, Hot Tub, other Conveniences, and common grounds on the property will be shared with other Guests.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
- Primary Guest checking in must be at least 25 years of age with a valid ID and credit card for security deposit. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this minimum age requirement for the primary Guest who will be checking in. Your security deposit will be returned to you after Check Out if you have not made any charges to your room.
- LATE CHECK-IN Instructions:
The Front Desk is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Saturday & Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. If you know that you will be arriving later than 5pm for Check In, please contact the Front Desk BEFORE 5:00p and confirm your Late Check In procedure.
- Barrier Island Station - Ocean Pines Condominium complex is professionally managed onsite by Capital Vacations. The Front Desk is staffed for Check-In, Check-Out, and is available for any questions, issues, or need for assistance.
- Please note that once you Check In and get access to your unit, if you encounter any issues or concerns regarding Housekeeping, Maintenance, etc…please contact the Front Desk / Office IMMEDIATELY. The staff members on-site provide the best opportunity to get any concerns resolved in the fastest and most efficient manner.
- PARKING: The attached Carport / Parking Garage that comes with this unit can fit two cars (at no additional cost). If you need parking for an additional car, you can arrange this directly with the Front Desk, but there may be an additional fee.
- Linens linens, Blankets, Pillows are supplied. However, if you need additional items for linens, pillows, or blankets / comforters during your stay, please bring your own, as the Front Desk will NOT be able to provide additional linens or pillows.
- Although basic linens linens, blankets, and pillows are supplied, I highly recommend you bring some of your own if your family members have their own favorite pillows or blankets.
- If you plan on using the Sleeper couches during your stay, I definitely recommend bringing your own sheets, pillows, and blankets, maybe even a bed pad for the Sleeper couch specifically, which can be turned into a very comfortable additional bed.
- Bath and Hand towels are supplied for you and will be inside your unit when you arrive.
- There is NO daily Housekeeping or daily Towel exchange supplied. However, you have access to your own Washer and Dryer available in the Utility room located in your personal Carport / Parking Garage. Just remember that you will need to provide your own Laundry Detergent.
- Please remember upon your arrival you will find a "Starter Kit" in the unit, which is intended to get you through until you are all settled and able to get to the store. It will include...Toilet Paper - 1 roll in each bathroom, Paper Towels - 1 roll in the Kitchen; Coffee Filters, a couple packs of Coffee, and 1 modest bottle of Dishwashing liquid / Dishwasher detergent.
- Recommended Items to Bring / Purchase upon arrival:

* Coffee/ Coffee Filters
There are also grocery stores conveniently located in Kitty Hawk, Duck, and Corolla if you want to shop for any groceries or personal items you want during your stay.
- Utensils, Dishes, and some basic Pots and Pans are included. If something appears to be missing, you can contact the Front Desk and possibly get it dropped off (if they have it). However, if you plan on cooking a lot of meals inside your unit, or plan any special dishes, I do recommend bringing your favorite Generous Frying pan (or Extensive Sauté Pan, Wok, Crockpot, etc, etc) for cooking. This way you will have something you are comfortable using and you will know exactly how things will prepare in it. You may also want to bring your favorite Kitchen knife(s) for food prep.
- The bigger type Pool / Beach towels are not supplied. Each family should bring their own Pool / Beach towels.
- You should bring your own Beach Chairs / Beach Blankets / Umbrellas / Coolers / Equipment you want to use on the beach. If you don’t bring your own stuff, you are able to rent Beach chairs / Umbrellas in the Town of Duck, or during most summer weeks on the beach out in front of the facility.
- The new H2OBX Waterpark freshly constructed in Powell's Point is only about 15 miles away
- If you or any members of your family savor bicycle riding, I strongly recommend taking your own bicycles (if you have the means to do so). Bikes are a great way to move around the resort, and also ride into the Town of Duck. Bicycle units in Duck are available if you don't bring your own. Remember to take your bicycle locks so you can lock up your bicycles at the bicycle rack each nighttime.
- Family Animals are not allowed anywhere on or in the Resort property.
About the Area
Located in Kitty Hawk, this condo is on the beach. Glazin' Go-Nuts and Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at The Sanderling Spa and Aqua Spa. Traveling with kids? Consider Nor'Banks Sailing and Corolla Raceway. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
