The sound of the screen door closing behind you, the smell of the sea in the air and the vintage feel of old school Nags Head - if you've ever said, "remember when," then this 1950's bungalow is for you! Renovated yet nostalgic and full of classic Nags Head appeal, this is the well-appointed beach bungalow you’ve been looking for.

A dog-friendly bungalow with a studio layout, Kemp & Olive features a well-equipped kitchen, a flat screen TV, WiFi, cable, a shared washer & dryer, and a mini-split heating & air conditioning system for optimal temperature control. The outdoor area offers an outdoor shower, charcoal grille, an outdoor hose, and a backyard firepit – B.Y.O firewood and smores!! For your convenience, the bungalow has a cart for hauling your beach gear to and from the sand.

Linens and cleaning are included in the rate. Linens are supplied by an independent vendor (bed linens, bath towels, washcloths, sheets). Bed will be made when you arrive!

Our handsome caretakers, Mike and Lisa, live close by and are as committed to your experience as we are.

Located on the beach road, the property is just a short walk away from a gorgeous beach access over a natural dune on Grouse Street (see aerial photos above). One of two cottages onsite, Kemp and Olive is one of just a handful of bungalow courts still in existence in Nags Head.

In addition to many local retail stores, fine and casual dining establishments and grocery stores, the bungalow is also close to many great local attractions including the delightfully refreshed Jennette's Pier (less than one mile away), the North Carolina Aquarium in Manteo, Jockey's Ridge, Tanger Outlet shopping, Bodie Island Lighthouse, Coquina Beach, and off-roading and fishing at Oregon Inlet.

There is a two-dog max., we do not allow cats, and we do not charge a pet fee. There is no smoking allowed in the bungalow. The bungalow is not handicap accessible. We have a 30-day cancellation policy - refunds will only be issued if cancellation is submitted in writing to the property manager outside of 30 days from check-in date.
