Welcome to Second Wind – your breezy, pretty escape on Bald Head Island, where expansive ocean vistas, privacy, and comfort come together for the ideal beach vacation. Just 650 feet from South Beach, this cavernous, open floor plan, four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home is ideal for two families, couples, or anyone looking to relax and recharge by the sea.

Inside, you’ll find a bright and roomy reverse floor plan with the main living, upsized kitchen, and dining areas upstairs to maximize the ocean vistas. Enormous windows on three sides flood the space with natural light, while a completely equipped kitchen with granite countertops offers everything you need to prepare and gather. Whether you're appreciating beverages at the bar, reading in the great room, or playing board games at the dining table, there's plenty of room to connect with your people.

The screened porch, with comfortable, upholstered chairs, and adjoining sun deck offer the ideal places to sip morning coffee, listen to the surf, or watch ships glide by on the ocean and Cape Fear River. In the evening, the west-facing porch becomes your front-row seat to island sunsets—best appreciated from a rocking chair with a cold drink in hand.

The home features two king-size master suites, each with a pillow-top bed, private bath, constructed-in closets, and intelligent TV. Both open out to a covered porch facing the ocean, ideal for reading, cards, or a peaceful nap. Two additional bedrooms with twin beds share a full bath and are ideal for kids or teens. All together, the home offers about 2,800 square feet of living space, wood floors throughout, and nine-foot ceilings.

Our upsized estate lot provides privacy, lush greenery, and wildlife sightings—from deer to ospreys. Despite the calming setting, you're just a short block from the sand and a longer block from the Bald Head Island Club.

For simple island travel, we include two golf carts—one six-seater and one four-seater—plus a trailer for hauling beach gear. You'll also have access to at least two adult bicycles* (more available to rent on the island), eight beach chairs, umbrellas, and a stash of beach toys for kids. * Not guaranteed due to flat tires, etc,, that we may not be made aware of.

Other features include complimentary Wi-Fi, central AC, a Bluetooth speaker system throughout the home and porches, a big screen TV, and a sizable library of beach reads, games, and puzzles. The dining room seats eight to ten comfortably, with additional bar seating for four and an outdoor table for four on the screened porch.

With ocean vistas throughout the upstairs and unobstructed ocean vistas looking down down the street from our porches, painless access to South Beach, and close proximity to dining, golf, tennis, and pools, Second Wind offers a really unique spot on Bald Head Island. The peaceful cul-de-sac location and mature landscaping create a secluded, serene setting—while still keeping everything you need within reach.
