The museum just opened in 2021 and is filled with pretty, entirely-restored historic boats and the rich history associated with them. You can also tour other exhibits offered by the museum on lighthouses, fishing, lifesaving stations, and weather. After you've had your fill of the Currituck Maritime Museum, take the kiddos over to the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education.
