Savor the fishing village of Wanchese, the cozy town of Manteo, and the close by beaches of the Atlantic during your stay in “Aunt Vid’s Cottage.” Aunt Vid’s family restored the bungalow, preserving its original appeal while providing many new amenities, including WiFi, central air-conditioning, new appliances, and an outside shower and fish-cleaning sink.

Upon entering Aunt Vid's bungalow, you will be transported to an earlier era of tranquility on Roanoke Island. The family restored the original pine floors throughout the bungalow. They remodeled the kitchen while maintaining its vintage feel with basket-weave tile, a retro refrigerator, and butcher block counter-tops. The little bungalow has a sizable front porch for appreciating the island breeze. After a day at the beach or fishing on the sea, the outside shower is a private, roomy spot in which to wash away the sand.

Located in Wanchese, this vacation home is near a water park and near the beach. Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse and Island Farm are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Pirate's Cove Marina and Mutiny Bay Adventure Golf. Ready for a night out?
