Welcome to "Tranquility Cottage", your escape to the Outer Banks for a fun, calming vacation in the heart of Hatteras Island. Located in the Village of Waves, this rental has direct access to the Atlantic Ocean and the Pamlico Sound. Whether you are looking for world class fishing, exceptional surfing, windsurfing, kiteboarding, paddleboarding, kayaking or just wish to relax on the beach, our home will bring you tranquility and "Tranquility".

Our home offers 3 bedrooms, central air conditioning / heating, one full and one half bathroom plus a enormous outside enclosed hot/cold shower with attached changing area. Bedroom #1 has a queen size bed, TV and attached half bath. Bedroom #2 has a full size bed. Bedroom #3 has twin size bunk beds and full size sleeper couch, TV and AM/FM receiver. The living room has a huge flat screen intelligent TV and AM/FM receiver. Balcony has a reading desk with library of over 90 hard cover books. There is a separate laundry room with full size ,washer and dryer. The living room has a sizable cathedral ceiling with skylights to fill the home with sunlight during the day. The front deck has constructed in chairs and is huge enough for private sunbathing. The screened back porch has a wet bar, ice maker and deck chairs for relaxing after a fun filled day to watch the sun set over the sound. There is an outside fish cleaning table with two sinks and running water. Top it off with a large outside charcoal picnic grille and you will call this your 'home away from home!' We vacation here ourselves, so it is maintained to the highest standards.

Known for it's prevailing southwest winds, Hatteras Island offers windsurfing and kiteboarding conditions like no other. The surf has amazing breaks for surfers of all abilities. If fishing is your fancy, it is available on multiple levels, including surf-fishing, pier-fishing, and offshore or inshore charters. If you like to drive on the beach, there are multiple entrance ramps available for your 4x4 car.

Walking to the ocean or sound takes just mins.. Leave your car in the driveway and discover the fun filled activities just a short walk away. At the end of the street is a watersports shop, where kayaks, jet-skis, surfboards, kiteboards and paddle boards are all available for rent. Never tried any of these? They offer lessons to all levels as well. There is a Dairy Queen directly at the end of our road where you can appreciate an ice cream sundae after a hearty dinner at numerous eateries only mins. away.
