The Space:

The Kiawah Suite summons the essence of a really refined Antebellum Charleston experience, through really paired with every modern convenience. The kitchen is a timeless centerpiece, featuring a timeless La Cornue gas oven and cooktop from Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, France, complemented by a whisper-peaceful, American-made Vent-A-Hood. Guests are invited to celebrate Old World culinary traditions using top-of-the-line All-Clad cookware and glassware. Custom cabinetry, the kitchen island, and soaring eight-foot barn doors are handcrafted on-site from reclaimed heart pine, sourced during the home’s renovations.

Entertainment is seamlessly modern with a Samsung 4k Intelligent TV, offering complimentary access to Youtube TV, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video. The bedroom is designed for rest, offering sound machines and intelligent charging stations, surrounded by cypress shiplap walls and centuries-old heart pine—much of it dating back to the early 1600’s.

The bathroom is a masterful blend of history and luxury, tiled with original repurposed Vermont slate dating to 1851, when the home was constructed by shipwrights. Salvaged standing-seam tin from the original front porch roof forms a striking backsplash behind the hand-hammered, nickel-plated vessel sinks. Period-inspired water closets sourced from Kent, England complete the Old World aesthetic.

Outdoors, guests can embrace the Charleston tradition: calming on the porch and appreciating the coastal breeze. Rocking chairs overlook Cannon Street, while a private rear porch and patio offer additional space to relax, complete with a lounge couch and Acorn Bar-B-Que grille.

Guest Access:

This suite has access to the enormous front porch with exclusive, dedicated seating, a private rear porch, and patio with Green Egg charcoal grille, complementary charcoal. Free parking for one car.



The Neighborhood:

Visitors can appreciate convenient dining options directly next door at Southbound and Ladles Soup across from the apartment. The home is set in Cannonborough, an inviting downtown area blending historic and beautiful residential homes. It’s steps away from the College of Charleston, as well as Charleston's best eateries and shopping.



Getting Around:

We offer complimentary parking on-site. We are only 3 blocks from Upper King Street, so most guests prefer to walk and discover the city. The beach is 15 mins. away by car. There is also a complimentary shuttle offered by the city that runs along King Street (3 blocks away) to trendy stops. Bicycle units are available close by or you might savor trying a pedicab taxi.



Other Things to Note:

We are three blocks from King Street, right in the middle of all Charlestonian activity. Incredible eateries such as Southbound, Verns, 167 Raw, Malagon, Indaco, and Azur. Great places to have drinks are even closer at places like Felix, Stars, Babas, and Prohibition. There are also great niche eateries closer than King Street, such as coastal Italian at Allora or creative Indian at Rivayat. If you want the full Charleston experience, a walking tour or carriage tour is a must. If you have sea legs and are aiming for total immersion into history, the steamboat runs to Ft. Sumter daily and you can land your two feet exactly where the Civil War started.
