Sound Choice In Manteo: Lakefront | In-Law Suite - Vacation rental home in Manteo, NC

Discover the appeal of Roanoke Island when you stay at this welcoming 3 bedroom sound side home in the heart of Manteo. A historic community with a hometown feel while still being just a short drive over the bridge from Nags Head beaches, it's the "best of both worlds" location sought after by residents and visitors alike.

Located on a huge wooded lakefront lot in a peaceful, residential neighborhood, Sound Choice In Manteo provides privacy and seclusion that's hard to find on the beach. Direct access to the lake from your backyard is ideal for launching kayaks and modest vessels. An broad sun deck overlooks the water, with a covered patio directly below that leads to the ground-level apartment. Ideal for the guests in your group who'd prefer a separate space of their own, the apartment includes a sitting area, dining area, kitchenette, full bath, queen bed, and its own washer and dryer.

Upstairs on the main level, a traditional floorplan features the cavernous eat-in kitchen area as the heart of the home, with water vistas and access to the deck for convenient indoor/outdoor living. A formal dining area, which provides seating for 8 and even more vistas of the lake, is adjacent to the elegantly furnished living area with access to the sunroom. Across the entry is the master with a king bed and en suite bathroom. Step outside the front door to appreciate sound vistas and enchanting sunsets from the front porch. Two additional bedrooms and a loft space with a daybed are located on the top level, with access to a full bath.

Set aside a day or two to discover the hidden gem of downtown Manteo. This cozy waterfront district offers a variety of shopping and dining options, complete with cobblestone streets, a boardwalk along the Shallowbag Bay, and Jacobean architecture that nods to the town's English colonization origins. Everything is within walking distance so you can really savor the Elizabethan ambiance. Walk to the Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse for a trip back in time, or cross the bridge over to Roanoke Island Festival Park where you'll find The Pavilion Outdoor Theatre, a live-entertainment venue with lawn-style amphitheater seating that hosts concerts and festivals throughout the year.
