Welcome to DeBordieu Colony

DeBordieu Colony is a private, gated coastal community, and part of what makes it so special is that everybody who visits helps protect its natural beauty and peaceful character. Here's what you need to know during your stay.

Getting Around
- Speed limit is 25 mph throughout the community
- Please display your guest pass at all times
- Parking: driveway only, never obstruct emergency cars, and no street parking between 11pm–7am

Golf Carts
- Drivers must be over 16 years old
- Daylight hours only
- No private carts on the golf course
- No gas-powered carts or cars are allowed

Bicycles
- Use trails or secondary roads only, please avoid Luvan Boulevard
- Stop at all signs, ride single file, and stay aware of your surroundings
- Store bicycles neatly and securely when not in use

Boats
- A boat license can be purchased at the gate
- Store boats in the garage when not in use
- Please respect all posted "No Wake" zones

Beach & Dunes
- Keep the dunes clear, remove all items from the beach at the end of each day
- No glass containers, fires, or fireworks on the beach
- Georgetown County regulations prohibit digging holes deeper than 2 feet, and any holes must be filled in before leaving

Wildlife
- Please avoid approaching or disturbing alligators and loggerhead turtle nests
- During turtle nesting season, oceanfront properties must have lights out by 10pm
- Keep an eye out for deer while driving or walking through the community

Family Animals
- Dogs must be on a leash on the beach between 9am–7pm
- Keep family pets away from turtle nesting areas and always clean up after them
- Please don't let pets roam freely on the dunes
- Waste bags and bins are located throughout the community

Towels & Laundry
- Please keep towels, and any other laundry or clothes, stored inside rather than hanging outside

Garbage & Recycling
- Garbage bins must not be visible from the street
- Please check local collection dates
- Recycling bins are located at the firehouse on the street
- Breakdown cardboard boxes (flatten and place separately)

Community Safety
- Concealed firearms and fireworks are prohibited throughout the community
