This unique 24-acre resort property located right on the edge of the Town of Duck, NC, sits between the Ocean and the Sound, and offers access to both. This is arguably one of the best locations in the Outer Banks for convenience and walking / cycling proximity to multiple activities and dining options.

This property has one of the biggest outdoor pools on OBX and a Recreation Center with Indoor Pool, Hot Tub, Sauna, Exercise Room, and Activity Room.

THE SPACE

This is a two level 2BR/2BA unit located in the 300 Building on the 3rd and 4th floors.

3rd floor - Full Kitchen with Stove, Oven, Fridge, Dishwasher, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Toaster, Blender, etc. Sit up bar / 3 stools, Dining Table / 4 chairs, Living Room area with Loveseat and Sleeper couch, Fireplace, Bedroom with 2 Twin beds with full size bathroom / shower, good sized Outdoor Deck has a breathtaking Sound / Garden view and table / 4 chairs,

4th floor - Enormous Loft area with Sleeper Couch, Master Bedroom with King bed, Full bathroom / huge Garden tub, shower wand. There is a private deck off the Master bathroom with a Sound view. Washer / Dryer on this level.

This cavernous 2BR unit at roughly 1,300sq ft is rated to sleep eight (8) persons. There is a Washer / Dryer inside your unit.

Please note that this listing includes multiple weeks available. The photos reflect the interiors of numerous different units you might be assigned, depending on which specific week you book. However, these units all have the same basic floorplan, with the general decor and layout reflected in the photos. If you have any questions, please feel complimentary to ask.

SOUND VIEW CATEGORY:

While the resort itself is Beachfront, this specific unit located in the 300 Building (see property map in the photos section), is nearer to the Sound side. There is a view of the Sound from this unit, and the view type category is considered “Sound View” which means you can savor the sunsets over the Sound each day. This unit does have a spectacular view from the outdoor deck.

STAIRS / ACCESSIBILITY:

Most properties in OBX have a certain number of stairs, so that buildings are elevated and protected in case of potential flooding that could be caused by hurricanes or major storms.

UNIT INTERIORS:

This property was originally constructed in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Recently a $8+ Million dollar remodel project was started, and expected to be finished in phases.

Before the renovation started, most of the unit interiors were roomy and comfortable but very dated.

Please note this specific unit in the 300 Building section has been partially modernized. This unit has received new Flooring throughout, new furnishings in the Living Room and bedrooms, new window coverings, freshly painted in all rooms, and the Kitchen has been refreshed (although countertops remain the same). The Master Bath also had the sizable garden tub replaced with a Walk-In shower.

The benefits offered by this resort are the overall amenities, including one of the biggest outdoor pool areas on OBX. Next to the pool area there is an onsite Snack Shack serving stuff like burgers and hot dogs, beverages, and water ice.

This property is definitely one of the most unique on OBX, with direct access to the both the Beach and the Sound, and in very close proximity to the many stores and eateries in the Town of Duck. You also benefit from these spacious units being priced lower than comparable options of the same size in the area.

Many families appreciate their annual vacations at this property, however if you are a traveler that requires more opulent accommodations, this may not be the right choice for you, and you might want to consider one of the more expensive listings on Vacation Rental By Owner.

I am not trying to sound negative, because personally we enjoy this property, I just want to make sure your expectations match reality. So if you have any specific questions on this please don't hesitate to ask.

GUEST ACCESS

Your unit is private, but since this is a resort property, amenities will be shared with other guests (Pools, Beach, Recreation Center, Outdoor Games, etc).

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

- Primary Guest checking in must be at least 21 years of age with a valid ID and credit card for security deposit. If a security deposit is required, it will be returned to you after Check Out if you have not made any charges to your room.

- Barrier Island Station – Duck is professionally managed and operated by Capital Vacations. The Front Desk is staffed for Check-In, Check-Out, and is available for any questions, issues, or need for assistance during your stay.

- Check In time is 4:00pm (or after) and check out time is 10:00am. Please check with the resort Front Desk for any possibility of earlier unit availability and / or early use of the resort amenities during check-in days.

- Late Check In: The Front Desk / Office is open from 8am to 7pm. If you arrive after those hours you can go to the Security office and get access to your unit. Then the following morning you will need to go to the office by 11am to get officially signed in and receive your parking passes, information, etc.

- Please note that once you Check In and get access to your unit, if you encounter any issues or concerns regarding Housekeeping, Maintenance, etc…please contact the Front Desk / Office IMMEDIATELY. The staff members on-site provide the best opportunity to get any concerns resolved in the fastest and most efficient manner.

- Please note that some of the photos may not be from the specific unit you will be assigned. However, they do reflect the general layout you can expect from various locations in the unit.

- Two COMPLIMENTARY parking passes are included with this unit, which you will receive from the Front Desk at Check In. If you need parking for an additional car you can arrange this directly with the Front Desk.

- Linens linens, including blankets, sheets, and pillows are included. However, if have you have any favorites blankets or pillows, or if you sleep better using a certain type of pillow, it would be good to bring your own.

- Please especially take note of the detail above about bed coverings. BIS-Duck provides Blankets but does NOT provide the heavier, bulkier Comforters that you may have on your bed at home. The Blankets on the beds should be fine for most families, but you could bring an additional Blanket or Comforter if you have any concerns about that.

- If you plan on using the Sleeper couches during your stay, I definitely recommend bringing your own sheets, pillows, and blankets, maybe even a bed pad for the Sleeper couch specifically, which can be turned into a very comfortable additional bed. Also plan accordingly if your unit has multiple sleeper couches (bringing 2 sets of sheets, pillows, blankets, etc).

- Bath and Hand towels are supplied for you and will be inside your unit when you arrive.

- Please note that Housekeeping will provide EXTRA towels and blankets upon request. Just contact the Front Desk and they will arrange a drop-off.

- There is no daily housekeeping supplied. However your unit does have it's own Washer / Dryer in the unit that is for your use only. If additional housekeeping is desired during your stay it is available for an additional fee scheduled directly with the resort Front Desk.

- Each Unit will receive a "Starter Package" at Check In. Your unit will have basic supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, detergent, etc to get you thru the first day or two of your stay. I recommend you definitely be prepared for this by bringing your own supplies in these categories based on what you feel you will need for the week (especially if there are specific brands you favor). Also don’t forget any cleaning products if you want them (cleaners, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, etc). There are grocery stores conveniently located in Kitty Hawk, Duck, and Corolla if you want to shop for any groceries or personal items you want during your stay.

- Utensils, Dishes, and some basic Pots and Pans are supplied. If something appears to be missing, you can contact the Front Desk and possibly get it dropped off (if they have it). However, if you plan on cooking a lot of meals inside your unit, or plan any special dishes, I do recommend bringing your favorite Substantial Frying pan (or Sizable Sauté Pan, Wok, Crockpot, etc, etc) for cooking. This way you will have something you are comfortable using and you will know exactly how things will prepare in it. You may also want to bring your favorite Kitchen knife(s) for food prep.

- Pool / Beach towels are not supplied. Each family should bring their own pool / beach towels

- You should bring your own Beach Chairs / Beach Blankets / Umbrellas / Coolers / Equipment you want to use on the beach. If you don’t bring your own stuff, you are able to rent Beach chairs / Umbrellas in the Town of Duck, or during most summer weeks on the beach out in front of the facility.

- The new H2OBX Waterpark newly constructed in Powell's Point is only about 15 miles away

- If you or any members of your family enjoy bicycle riding, I strongly recommend taking your own bicycles (if you have the means to do so). Bikes are a great way to move around the resort, and also ride into the Town of Duck. Bicycle units in Duck are available if you don't bring your own. Remember to take your bicycle locks so you can lock up your bicycles at the bicycle rack each nighttime.

- If you are interested in fishing while on vacation, just make sure you have the proper licenses. There are also many rental and charter boats for fishing based out of the various inlets if you wanted access to waters farther offshore.

- Animals are not allowed anywhere on or in the Resort property.
