Eric has spent most of his life on or near the North Carolina coast. His first recollection of this beautiful place is of a childhood trek to the top of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. He has been smitten with the coast ever since.
He worked in the coastal North Carolina travel and tourism business for nearly 15 years. He has written numerous historical and feature articles about the coast for a variety of books and magazines. He has guided bus tours from Wilmington to Corolla. He has swam in, flown over, and hiked through nearly every inch of the Carolina's islands and waters. He has sailed nearly every creek, river, and sound from Morehead to Manteo. And he often jokes that if he ever needs a blood transfusion, it will have to be with North Carolina sea water.
Today, he makes his home on Virgina's Chesapeake Bay and returns often to his coastal Carolina home.
