Sarah Downing, a native of
Norfolk, Virginia, has been a resident of North Carolina's Outer Banks
since 1984. Her writings have been published in local, regional
and national publications. She authored a local history column, And
There Was the Time in the Outer Banks Sentinel newspaper and is
the volunteer editor of the Friends of Jockey's Ridge Newsletter
The Dune Breeze. You might have seen her on the History Channel's
History's Mysteries: Ghostships.
Sarah resides in Nags Head
with her husband and a mixed breed dog. She enjoys long walks
on the beach, fishing, exploring the natural areas of the Outer Banks
and has been known to try her hand at surfing when the waves are small.
