Over 12 years ago, CoastalGuide starting working with the tourism entities in northeastern NC (actually, all along the NC Coast) and CoastalGuide put together a website www.CoastalGuide.com At that time CoastalGuide offered all of us access to his site, free of charge. Many of us took advantage of it, actually, for many of our attractions/sites/TDAs it was the first website for many of us, as we were just learning about the Internet and what it could do for us.Many have since branched off on their own, but CoastalGuide.com, because CoastalGuide owns some of the strategic URLS such as OuterBanks.com (and many others) and because CoastalGuide has made sure that his sites are placed high on the search engines, is still a most effective way of learning about our region.
His website generates many visitor inquires each year. Our county answered close to a hundred-thousand of them over the past 12 years! The information CoastalGuide gets from the inquiring visitor is very specific (things like how long will you stay, how much will you plan to spend, how many in your party, what is your main interest, how are you traveling camper? RV? Boat? Air? etc.). And, MOST IMPORTANTLY, a name, email address and mailing address for the potential traveler to this area.
